Sibylle de Tavernost has been a publisher of contemporary rugs since 2017. This great traveler has imagined a multicultural brand, rooted in her time, the fruit of a free journey and a singular creative path. Dreamed up in the four corners of the world, designed in Paris and knotted by hand in India, the Sibylle de Tavernost editions carry the values of exchange, transmission and freedom dear to the designer.
The rugs are imagined as floor paintings and become the canvas on which inspiration takes shape. Each creation tells a story, the one imagined by Sibylle de Tavernost but also that of the craftsman who wove it with his hands and then of the recipient who will live with it on a daily basis.
The editions are designed to cross the generations like a family painting that is transmitted with emotion.
A formidable creative playground , the rug provides a melting pot of inspiration. The play of colors, abstract shapes and graphic lines, the effects of materials, the pictorial rhythm summon in turn the auric lands, art with references to the great artists of modern art such as Kandinski, Picasso or Miro, but also the heritage of Sibylle's painter grandfather, nature or the cosmos. The equestrian universe also shines through in the collections, in the imagery or the riding emblems.
